ROME, Sep. 1 (EUROPE PRESS) –
The Italian Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte, announced this Sunday that they are preparing the program of the future government in “a good working environment” with a view to presenting it next Tuesday or Wednesday probably already with the names of the ministers.
“I see a good working environment. From this point of view, I am absolutely convinced that everyone is willing to put aside the past and focus on this important project that concerns the entire country. The deadline for the government is Tuesday , no later than Wednesday, “Conte said, according to the Italian press.
Conte is the outgoing prime minister of the 5 Star-League Movement coalition government and will remain in the position in the Executive agreed between the M5S and the Democratic Party. “They are two forces that have been somewhat antagonistic at the political level, but I see a good working environment. Both are prepared for a common project that seeks the good of the country,” he argued.
Conte stressed that the election of ministers “is not the main concern at this time”, but rather they are concentrating on the government program.
Conte has also answered a question about his relationship with the M5S and its founder Beppe Grillo, who has highlighted his “fantastic vision”. “I am not a member of the 5 Star Movement. I do not participate in political leadership meetings. I have never met with the parliamentary group. I would like to meet with them,” he said.
In particular, he has referred to his affinity with the leader of the M5S, Luigi Di Maio. “I work very well with the 5 Star Movement and in particular with Luigi Di Maio. He has appointed me president (…). In the last elections I voted Five Stars because (Di Maio) was on the list as a minister,” he said.
Meanwhile, the leader of the ultra-right-wing Liga party and even Interior Minister Matteo Salvini has reloaded against Conte, who “has already stepped down from the M5S and enthusiastically embraced his PD.” “How sad! From town lawyer to caste lawyer!” He has reproached.
