Lukashenko orders the sending of humanitarian aid to minors on the border with Poland

Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko has ordered emergency aid to be sent to children with a migration background on the border with Poland, the new epicenter of the migration crisis in Europe.

Lukashenko is accused, in retaliation for the Brussels sanctions, which accused the president of electoral fraud in the last elections of 2020, of allowing the displacement of people in conflict areas to Belarus and then redirecting them to countries of the European Union.

However, the border countries do not allow migrants through and the Belarusian authorities do not allow them to return, which means that upon the arrival of winter, thousands of people are trapped in no man’s land along the Belarusian borders.

As the agency Belta announced this Saturday, the head of state proposed to transport the refugee children to medical centers and ordered everything necessary to be prepared, but the refugees have asked the forces stationed there to provide medical care directly to the children instead.

The military will set up tents in which all incoming relief supplies will be collected. There the children are fed and the help distributed evenly to the rest of the refugees, according to the agency.
