Luis Parra, President of the National Assembly of Venezuela, elected by ‘Chavismo’, and the minority opposition distancing himself from Juan Guaidó, has been hospitalized in a Caracas hospital for acute pneumonia in the past few hours.
“We are informing the country that the President of the National Assembly, Deputy Luis Parra, is stable. He has been transferred to the city of Caracas, where he will stay in the hospital to receive treatment for his recovery,” said his chief office, Miguel Ponente.
Parra was admitted to the central hospital in San Felipe, Yaracuy, with a diagnosis of acute pneumonia. However, when he got worse, he had to be taken to a health center in Caracas, according to the Venezuelan newspaper El Nacional.
Last week he underwent two tests for COVID-19 that were negative, but on Sunday he went through another PCR test due to deteriorating health, the results of which have not yet been reported.
