López Obrador supports a model change after the neoliberal “failure” to deal with the pandemic

May 4, 2020

The President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, defended the need this Sunday to leave the neoliberal model behind after examining how it couldn’t cope with the new coronavirus pandemic.

The Mexican president said that “it is too early to analyze the causes and effects of the pandemic,” “certain lessons with tangible foundations can already be advanced.”

López Obrador has published an eight-point text on his social networks, in which he breaks down his ideas in the light of a new model in which health is given priority in the light of “mercantilistic, individualistic and solidarity approaches”.
