Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said Thursday that the country’s authorities have been “coordinating” against Jalisco New Generation Cartel (CJNG) while asking Jalisco governor Enrique Alfaro. Put the “partisan flags” aside for the security and peace of the population.
“It works in a coordinated manner. Governor Enrique Alfaro has been in charge from the start of coordinating the tables that meet every day to discuss security, just as we do at the national level,” said López Arbeiter at a press conference after one Security meeting in Jalisco.
“The purpose of holding the security meeting here is understandable (because) we are facing organized crime here, this is the headquarters of one of the organized crime groups, Jalisco,” he said, referring to the CJNG, he reported “The Universal.”
For his part, Alfaro, who has sometimes criticized the Mexican President, has said that Jalisco needs López Obrador “more than ever” and has suggested that a new phase of recovery should be initiated for the good of the country.
