A rise in violent crime in London has sparked concerns about the capital’s rising murder rate.
Already, Sky News has identified 60 people who are suspected to have been deliberately killed since the start of the year.
If the number of people being shot or knifed to death continues at the same rate, the number of murder investigations will far outstrip the figure for 2017, when 130 were launched.
The 60 who are known to have died so far in 2018 are:
Steve Frank Narvaez-Jara, 20, from south London, was stabbed at a flat in the Old Street area, close to the City of London.
Elizabeta Lacatusu, 44, a Romanian from Ilford, east London, died after being found with serious stab injuries in the town.
Shopkeeper Vijaykumar Patel, 49, who lived in Colindale, northwest London, was found lying on a pavement in Mill Hill with critical injuries. He died two days later in hospital.
Daniel Frederick, 34, was fatally stabbed in Stoke Newington, northeast London.
Oluwadamilola Odeyingbo, 18, died after being involved in a fight in Chislehurst, southeast London.
Model Harry Uzoka, 25, was fatally stabbed in Shepherd’s Bush, west London.
Yaya Mbye, 26, was found with stab wounds on an estate in Stoke Newington. He died later.
Juan Olmos Saca, 39, was stabbed during a fight at an address in Peckham Rye, southeast London, and died on 4 March in hospital from his injuries. Another man was stabbed in the abdomen during the altercation.
Khader Saleh, 25, was stabbed to death in Wormwood Scrubs prison, west London.
Police were called to reports of an unresponsive baby, 11-week old Lily Mai Saint George, at an address in Belmont Road, Haringey. The infant was taken to hospital but died two days later.
The body of carpet shop worker Seyed Khan, 49, from Ilford, was found in Ilford Cemetery. He had been missing since 24 January when he was seen taking a call outside the shop where he worked.
Hasan Ozcan, 19, was stabbed multiple times in a street in Barking, east London, and died at the scene.
Youth worker Kwabena Nelson, 22, was stabbed to death in Tottenham, northeast London
Hannah Leonard, 55, was found dead inside a flat in Swiss Cottage, north London. She was stabbed to death.
Sabri Chibani, 19, was attacked with a knife in a house near Streatham Common, south London, and staggered outside before dying in the street.
Taxi driver Bulent Kabala, 41, was shot dead on a roundabout after getting out of his vehicle in Barnet, north London, in what was described by police as a “targeted hit”.
Saeeda Hussain, 54, was found with critical injuries at an address in Ilford, east London, and was pronounced dead shortly after.
Promise Nkenda, 17, was stabbed in the chest in Canning Town, east London, and died at the scene.
Dad-of-one Mark Smith, 48, was found with multiple injuries at a property in Chingford, northeast London.
Jozef Boci, 30, was found with serious head injuries in Greenwich, southeast London, and died in hospital six days later.
Lewis Blackman, 19, a rapper from Kentish Town, was fatally stabbed in Kensington, west London.
Rotimi Oshibanjo, 26, was stabbed to death in Hanwell, west London.
Sadiq Mohamed, 20, and Abdikarim Hassan, 17, both died of knife wounds within two hours of each other in Kentish Town, north London.
Amir Ellouzi, 24, was shot near the House of Parliament in Westminster. He died of his wounds in hospital a week later.
Michael Boyle, 44, from Galashiels, Scotland, was found stabbed in a pub in Walworth, south London. He was taken to hospital where he died on 10 March.
Christopher Beaumont, 42, was found by paramedics stabbed at an address in Hammersmith, west London, and was pronounced dead soon after.
Laura Cecilia Navarrete De Figueira, 47, was found stabbed to death at her home in Twickenham, west London. Her husband and two sons were found dead in Birling Gap, Sussex, on the same day. The Met Police have also launched murder investigations into the deaths of the two boys.
Kelva Smith, 20, was stabbed to death in South Norwood, south London.
Privately educated Kelvin Odunuyi, 19, a rapper, was shot dead outside a cinema in Wood Green, north London, after two masked men rode past on a moped and one opened fire, according to witnesses.
Russian businessman Nikolai Glushkov, 68, was found dead at his home in New Malden, southwest London, in mysterious circumstances. Police later started a murder inquiry after giving his cause of death as “compression to the neck”.
Julian Joseph, 36, was assaulted by two men on a bus in New Cross, southeast London, shortly after midnight. He suffered a severe head injury and was taken to hospital where he died on 24 March.
Joseph Williams-Torres, 20 was inside a parked car in Walthamstow, northeast London, when he was approached by several suspects and shot. He died on route to hospital.
Lyndon Davis, 18, was stabbed in Chadwell Heath, east London, after a chase and taken to hospital where he died two hours later.
Russell Jordan Jones, 23, was shot and stabbed during an “unprovoked attack” in Enfield, north London, after being set upon by four men. He died at the scene and another man was seriously injured.
The body of Hersi Hersi, 36, who lived as a trans woman called Naomi, was found at a hotel in Hounslow, west London. A post-mortem later determined the cause of death as stab wounds.
Dad-of-two Tyrone Silcott, 41, a mechanic, also known as Sylvester, was stabbed multiple times and died outside a house in Homerton, east London.
Balbir Johal, 48, from Slough, was admitted to a hospital in west London suffering from stab wounds. He died a short time later. It was thought he suffered his injuries in Southall, west London.
Jermaine Kevin Johnson, 41, was found with stab wounds in Vallentin Road, Walthamstow, and pronounced dead an hour after paramedics started trying to save him.
Beniamin Pieknyi, 20, from Milton Keynes, was knifed to death while reportedly stepping in to help a friend during an altercation in Stratford, east London, just two months after arriving from Romania.
Aspiring PhD student Abraham Badru, 26, was gunned down as he got out of a car near his family home in Hackney, northeast London.
The “quiet and hard-working” son of a Nigerian politician was found collapsed on the pavement by his mother and died at the scene.
Wieslaw Kopczynski, 59, was admitted to hospital after being assaulted in his home in Barking. He died on 27 March.
David Potter, 50, was found stabbed to death in a flat in Tooting, southwest London.
Reece Tshoma, 23, was found with a stab wound to the neck in Plumstead, southeast London, and was taken to hospital where he died from his injuries later that evening.
Leyla Mtumwa, 38, was found by police with stab wounds to her neck and chest at an address in Tottenham, northeast London.
Devoy Stapleton, 20, was fatally stabbed after leaving a bar in Wandsworth, southwest London.
Tanesha Melbourne, 17, died of gunshot wounds after a shooting in Tottenham.
Amaan Shakoor, 16 was shot in the face in Walthamstow and died in hospital the next day. A 15-year-old boy, also discovered at the scene, was treated for stab injuries.
Henry Vincent, 38,who is suspected of burgling a home in Hither Green, southeast London, was stabbed during a struggle and died later in hospital.
Israel Ogunsola, 18, died after being stabbed in Hackney. Paramedics and staff from the London Air Ambulance attempted to save his life but he was pronounced dead at the scene less than half an hour later.
Babatunde Akintayo Awofeso, 53, also known as Bobby, died outside a Betfred bookmakers in Upper Clapton Road, Clapton, following a suspected fight.
John MacLean, 35, was found stabbed at a property in the Isle of Dogs area. He died at the scene despite the efforts of paramedics.
Raul Chiriac, 26, was attacked with a knife in Colindale, north London, in what was described as a domestic incident. He was taken to hospital and later died.
A woman in her 30s was stabbed to death in Brixton, south London, in another domestic incident.
Sami Sidhom, 18, was fatally stabbed in Forest Gate in east London. Police were called to Chestnut Avenue at around 10.50pm, but the victim died shortly before 11.30pm.
John Woodward, 47, a builder who was carrying out work on the roof of the Pressman Mastermelts building in Hatton Garden was seriously assaulted and died at the scene from wounds to his head. It was initially thought he had fallen but officers later opened a murder investigation.
Aaron Springett,32, collapsed close to Morden Tube station after being involved in a fight. He died the following day, with the cause of death given as blunt force trauma to the chest.
A 20-year-old man was found with stab wounds at Roth Walk in Finsbury Park. The victim has been named locally as Kwasi Anim-Boadu.
A man in his thirties is shot dead outside Queensbury Tube station in northwest London. Another man is critically injured.
Rhyhiem Ainsworth Barton, 17, was shot dead in Southwark, south London, on Saturday evening.
His mother, Pretana Morgan, paid tribute to her son and criticised police for “putting us in danger”.
