In business, as in life, there are things that you will have to learn for yourself. I anticipate that many times you will learn by succeeding, but some will also learn through failure. It's part of life. However, I have some tips for you that I would like to share with you, which, although they will not be exempt from learning lessons along the way making mistakes, will help you to have a “business trip” with fewer curves.
1. Dedicate yourself to something you like
Don't ask yourself what profession or business leaves more money; Ask yourself what kind of work or business activity you will enjoy doing every day. If you dedicate yourself to it, every morning you get up to work will be of enthusiasm and not denial. Also, if you like what you do, you are very likely to be good at it and your chances of success are higher. Always make sure that the work you have fills you and you enjoy it; If you don't comply with it, look for something else. There is nothing worse than working on something you don't like. The hours are eternal.
2. Always learn
Life always gives us lessons. It is in you to learn from these or let them pass. You must learn from your triumphs, but also from your failures; The latter will make you grow even more. You must also enter into a constant learning process. Change and technology revolutionize the world constantly; This forces you to be in a continuous learning mode. Do not get stuck and always try to be at the forefront learning as much from your business as from what is happening in the world. That will give you a great competitive advantage as a person, and as an entrepreneur.
3. Delight your customer
It doesn't matter what you do. Your client is the most important person in your business. You can have the best product or service in the world, but if your client is not happy, you may eventually lose it. On the other hand, if you delight your client thinking beyond their expectations, they will hardly consider anyone else. Always invest what is necessary in which the experience of your client is unbeatable.
4. The definition of success
Unfortunately we live in a world in which success is often measured only by economics. In my life I have met some people who are so poor that all they have is money. What is the definition of success? For me, success can be summed up in having a balance in 4 essential aspects of life: Labor, family, social and personal . The labor aspect is what will generate us money, which of course is very important, but it is not the only thing.
The familiar and social aspect is also fundamental; Our family and friends are the ones who enjoy life with us, and therefore they are very important. And no less important is the personal aspect. You have to invest in yourself: reading, exercising, resting or spending time on what you like to do the most. For me, a person who has a balance in these 4 aspects of life is the one who is really successful.
5. Work hard, but have schedules
Try to make it a habit to organize your work schedule. Although there will be days that you have a lot of work and you have to devote overtime, that this is not the constant. Life is too short to devote all the time to work.
6. Treat everyone equally
It does not matter if he is the assistant or the general manager of the company; Always be warm and kind to all people. In addition to this speaking a lot about the human quality of a person, life goes around and you never know who your client (or your boss) may be in the future.
7. Never miss the opportunity to help someone
Whether it's a friend, a customer, a co-worker or even a provider, if you realize that someone needs help, try to be the first to offer. It is certain that one day you will need it and life will return it to you “with interests”.
8. Be your own judge
Forget what people talk about you. The only valid judge to evaluate your actions will be yourself. Always trust the voice of your consciousness and remember that the limits of success you set yourself; nobody else.
