LeBron James and Crypto.com team up for the Blockchain Education Initiative

In a press release issued Friday, LeBron James, three-time NBA champion and Los Angeles Lakers forward, will partner with digital currency exchange Crypto.com to support Web 3.0-focused educational and career development opportunities. Specifically, according to local media outlet Akron Beacon Journal, the association will help 1,600 children from Akron, Ohio, LeBron James’ hometown, to learn more about the technology behind cryptocurrencies and how it will benefit their future professionals.

“Blockchain technology is revolutionizing our economy, sports and entertainment, the art world and the way we interact with each other. I want to make sure communities like mine aren’t left behind,” James said. Students will learn about the careers available in this field through virtual and in-person sessions with Crypto.com experts. Kris Marszalek, Co-Founder and CEO of Crypto.com made the following observations:

“We couldn’t be prouder to join the LJFF [LeBron James Family Foundation] To provide opportunities to improve education and workforce development while providing the tools and access that enable the next generation to build a better, more inclusive future.”

Crypto.com is currently the largest cryptocurrency exchange with a daily 24-hour trading volume of $3 billion. It has more than 10 million customers. However, not all users were in favor of this initiative. Some argued that the company should have paid more attention to improving customer experiences than pouring money into such partnerships.
