Lebanon’s lead negotiator resigns on Eurobond restructuring with IMF

Lebanon’s chief negotiator for the restructuring of the Eurobond and a key member of the government’s negotiating team with the International Monetary Fund has stepped down in a new resignation, motivated by the economic crisis that is rocking the country.

Resigning Talal F. Salman is a Harvard graduate who has been the Treasury Department’s economic advisor for six years and who will step down on Monday, according to Bloomberg sources.

Lebanon is struggling to keep a shattered economy alive, with dwindling reserves and skyrocketing inflation that hit 112% a year in June, along with a currency crisis.
