Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, Arancha González Laya, has assured that the Spanish government will introduce the same measure in the event that the United Kingdom decides to maintain the quarantine of travelers from Spain after June 22 will check in “reciprocity”.

“We will examine what the UK will do and we will have a dialogue with the UK to determine whether we should introduce reciprocity or not as they have different measures than the rest of the European Union,” the head assured Spanish diplomacy in statements to the British public television broadcaster BBC, which was collected by Europa Press.

González Laya recalled that the member states of the European Union and the borderless Schengen area have decided to remove quarantine measures when they reopen the borders. “We will have them by June 22nd and withdraw them on June 22nd. If the UK wanted to keep them after that day, for reasons related to its own vision of health, we will respect them, but we will are likely to act reciprocally. ” he said.
