MADRID, 29 Jan. –
The Arab League has considered on Wednesday that the peace plan of the US president, Donald Trump, for the Middle East, known as 'the agreement of the century', implies “a lot of violations of the rights of the Palestinians.”
Its secretary general, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, has indicated that a “first analysis” of Trump's peace plan reveals “a lot of violations of the legitimate rights of Palestinians on their lands.”
In addition, the head of the regional bloc has estimated that “many of the ideas of commitment” raised by the 'road map' prepared by the United States are “unacceptable.”
However, “we are open to any powerful effort that is undertaken to achieve peace,” Abul Gheit said in a statement, according to the Sputnik news agency.
Trump explained in an appearance from the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the 'agreement of the century' contemplates a “realistic” solution with which Jerusalem will be the “indivisible” capital of Israel, which will retain control of the settlements and the Jordan Valley, while Palestine will have its capital in East Jerusalem.
