Kuwait Emir is operated “successfully”
Kuwaiti emir Saba al Ahmad al Jaber al Saba underwent an unspecified surgery on Sunday after being hospitalized for a medical exam on Saturday, the official KUNA news agency reported.
Minister of Affairs of the Royal Court, Ali Al Jará, issued a brief statement on Saturday confirming that the Emir had “entered the hospital to undergo medical examinations” and announced the operation that Sunday without further details call good result.
The 91-year-old Emir has controlled this oil-rich Gulf country since 2006. Last year, he was transferred to a US hospital during a trip.

Although Kuwait has one of the most active parliaments in the Arab world, the emir retains most of the power, including the right to appoint the government.
