North Korean leader Kim Jong Un stressed that his country must be “on high alert” for the new coronavirus while highlighting the “resounding success” of the Pyongyang government response to the pandemic, as reported by the state press.

At a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Standing Committee of the North Korean Workers’ Party, the North Korean leader said that lifting the pandemic restrictions too quickly could lead to “an incurable and unimaginable crisis,” and praised the country’s six months of efforts to combat the corona virus , which they define as “brilliant success”, report the official news agency KCNA.

North Korea has not provided information on the health situation on its territory due to the new coronavirus pandemic, and the government has repeatedly stressed that it has not registered an infection.
