California Senator Kamala HarrisThe 56-year-old was the next to write history Vice President of the United States. She will be the first woman, the first African American, the first Indo American, and the first Asian to hold this position.

Harris was a district attorney in San Francisco and an attorney general in California before becoming a United States Senator. After Joe Biden ended her presidential bid during an often controversial prime 2020 Democratic season, he chose her as his fellow campaigner. Biden and Harris are sworn in as President and Vice President on January 20th.

During the campaign, Harris spoke about the historical nature of his candidacy and how he hopes it will inspire others. “It really helps to have examples of what can be done and role models, things that you can point out, to make it clear that it is not impossible and that it is, in fact, very likely that you can do these things and will. ” Harris told Padma Lakshmi in a recent interview.
