Just Eat adds bitcoin payments for 15,000 restaurants in France

Just EAT, a leading UK online grocery ordering and delivery platform in 13 countries, Added support for cryptocurrency payments for its subsidiary in France.

The company has partnered with the cryptocurrency payment provider Bitpay to the Enable your users to pay in Bitcoin (BTC).. Just Eat users can now order groceries at 15,000 restaurants in France Pay in one of these cryptocurrenciesReported Decrypt for the first time on September 7th.

The addition of crypto payments appears to come after Takeaway.com’s acquisition of Just Eat France, which has been accepting bitcoin payments for other platforms it has acquired since 2017.

On the Just Eat France website, the payment process is detailed and users are required to do it “Create a digital wallet by downloading special software or an application.”. Once you are linked to the Just Eat app, You can select the Bitcoin payment option at checkout which will redirect users to the Bitpay payment portal.

The price of Bitcoin is calculated based on the current price at Bitpay and the delivery platform does not charge any transaction fees for payments in cryptocurrency.

If a user cancels an order paid in Bitcoin, the platform will refund the amount paid in Euros to the user’s bank account instead of BTC. According to the website, the amount of the refund does not depend on the real-time price of Bitcoin.
