May 31, 2020

At least a dozen journalists who reported protests in the United States against the death of black citizen George Floyd – which has resulted in a police officer being charged with murder – have condemned attacks and unjustified arrests of the armed forces from security during their reporting.

Since the beginning of the protests and riots, the press freedom reporter committee in Phoenix, Indianapolis, Atlanta and Minneapolis, starting in the latter city, has recorded around 10 different incidents against journalists, from attacks to threats, the live arrest of the CNN journalist Omar Jimenez and his team this Saturday.

Freelance photographer Linda Tirado lost her eyesight forever after being hit by a paintball thrown by the police.
