Jordanian Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Tariq Hammouri, announced on Sunday that from Wednesday some of the restrictions imposed on the economic sector would be lifted a few weeks ago to stop the new coronavirus pandemic from progressing.
Hammouri has stated that all economic sectors will fully resume operations, provided the proportion of workers is no less than 75 percent, according to the state news agency Petra.
To date, Jordan has registered 461 positive cases for Covid-19 as well as nine deaths and more than 360 cases.
In a press conference, Hammouri announced that as of next Sunday the traffic restrictions in each province will also be lifted, just as public transport will be fully utilized, but with an occupancy rate of 50 percent for each vehicle.
However, the minister has pointed out that the government has also decided to postpone the reopening of some sectors such as educational centers – schools, institutes, kindergartens and universities – restaurants, cafes, sports facilities, places of worship, parks, cinemas. as well as conference and exhibition rooms.
