Japan registered 662 new cases of coronavirus last Saturday, the highest daily scale since the state of emergency was lifted on May 25. On a positive note, Tokyo confirmed a significant drop in daily infections this Sunday, for the first time in four days below 200.
With the 188 cases recorded in the last few hours, well below the 290 on Saturday, the total number of confirmed infections in Tokyo is now 9,411 and is waiting for the national results to be updated this Sunday.
However, in other prefectures such as Osaka, which confirmed 89 cases of coronavirus this Sunday, the situation is becoming increasingly worrying. This is evident from the balance sheets collected by the NHK chain.
Not only does this number exceed 80 infections on the second day in a row, it is also the second highest daily number recorded by the prefecture since 92 cases on April 9. The total number of confirmed cases in Osaka is now 2,420.
Japan collects more than 24,000 infections with a positive result in the coronavirus test, and the pandemic has killed nearly a thousand people.
