The Italian Ministry of Health this Tuesday reported the deaths of 251 people from the coronavirus and another 6,946 positive cases. Since the outbreak of the pandemic in March 2020, 4,123,230 cases have already accumulated, of which 123,282 corresponds to the death toll.
In terms of hospital pressure, 14,937 patients with various symptoms of the coronavirus were admitted to the ward, about 500 fewer than the previous day, while intensive care units treated 2,056 patients.
In return, health officials confirmed 16,503 medical layoffs this Tuesday, meaning 3,636,089 people have managed to overcome the disease. In contrast, there are still 364,000 active cases, roughly 9,800 fewer than the day before.
Meanwhile, some of the conservative Italian political forces, including far-right Liga Norte and Fuerza Italia, have tabled a motion to the Senate to end the curfew and allow indoor restaurants and shopping malls that are open on the weekends Adnkronos agency.
