Italy registers a further 88 deaths and 177 other positive cases due to the corona virus

In the past 24 hours, according to civil protection, Italy has added another 88 deaths and 177 new infections related to the coronavirus pandemic.

This means that there have been 234,013 confirmed cases in the country since the first infection with COVID-19 was found, while the deceased was 33,689 after the addition of recent deaths.

The number of diagnosed hospital patients continues to decrease. In the past 24 hours, a further 15 patients have left the intensive care unit, where 338 people are currently being admitted, while another 5,503 with symptoms are hospitalized, 239 fewer than the day before.

With regard to the cured patients, another 957 were discharged on the last day, increasing the total number to 161,895 since the pandemic started.

On the other hand, the emergency service of the hospital in Codogno, the city of the Province of Lodi in Lombardy, has been closed since Thursday, February 21, when the first case of coronavirus was diagnosed in Italy.
