Italy added another 200 cases and 30 more deaths on the last day, increasing the total number of coronavirus pandemics to 240,961 infections and 34,818 deaths. This is clear from the latest balance sheet that the Ministry of Health presented on Thursday.

There are currently just over 15,000 active cases, of which 963 are hospitalized and 82 are in intensive care, while another 14,015 are isolated at home. In addition, another 366 patients were discharged, so that 191,083 people have already overcome the disease.

Lombardy, the region most affected, has had 98 new infections and 21 deaths in the past 24 hours, for a total of 94,108 cases and 16,671 deaths.

Health Minister Roberto Speranza, for his part, has trusted that the scientists point out that a second wave could occur in autumn, but it will not take place definitively.
