Italy has managed to reduce the number of ICU patients below 1,000 for the first time in weeks and add another 179 deaths based on data from the past two days, depending on the civil protection balance offered on Monday.
774 new cases have been registered in the last 24 hours, for a total of 219,814, while the total number of deaths is 30,739.
It continues to decrease in data on active cases, as do hospital and ICU patients. The latter dropped to 999, 24 fewer than the previous day, while those hospitalized were 13,539, 79 fewer. Another 82,488 people are quarantined in their homes.
Healed patient data continues to grow, albeit significantly less than in previous days. Another 1,401 patients have been discharged in the past 24 hours, the total number of 106,587 recovered. Since the pandemic started in Italy, more than 2.6 million tests have been carried out in more than 1.7 million cases.
Lombardy remains the most affected region, bringing together almost half of the deceased. With 68 deaths on the last day, the northern region of Italy now has 15,054 deaths and 81,871 cases, with another 364 others. In addition, there are still 341 patients in the intensive care unit – more than a third of the national total – and 5,397 in the hospital.
