The Italian government has confirmed 72 new corona virus deaths and a further 270 new cases since Friday, bringing the total number of infections caused by the virus to 234,801 and deaths to 33,846. This is clear from the recent civil protection record this Saturday.
This balance represents a daily drop in deaths and positive outcomes compared to the 85 deaths and 518 infections yesterday, but maintains the constant in Lombardy as the focus of the disease.
142 of the 270 cases were registered there on Saturday, in which 27 people have died in the past few hours. In total, 90,070 people are affected by the corona virus in Lombardy, and 16,249 people have died in this region.
Lombardy is followed, after the updated balance, by Piedmont (30,845 cases, 3,934 deaths) and Emilia-Romagna (27,894 infections, 4,171 deaths).
