The Italian authorities have confirmed 119 new coronavirus deaths this Saturday, a new drop from 130 this Friday, which according to Protection’s balance sheet represents the lowest mortality rate in the past two months.
Similarly, the authorities reported 669 new infections, slightly more than the 652 cases between newspapers registered this Friday, but in line with the past few days, with one particular fact: Sicily did not register any new cases for the first time. In contrast, Lombardy continues to worry as 65.9 percent of new cases have occurred (441).
Overall, this new balance has brought the number of infections and deaths from 32,735 to 229,327 since the epidemic began. The number of people recovered is 138,800, 2,120 more than yesterday. The number of active cases in Italy, ie excluding deaths and layoffs, is 57,752.
Of these, 8,695 are hospitalized (262 fewer) and another 572 are brought to the intensive care unit (23 fewer). The rest are under domestic isolation.
Among the other regions most affected by the corona virus are 60 cases in Piedmont, 43 in Emilia-Romagna, 10 in Veneto, 12 in Tuscany, 38 in Liguria and 18 in Lazio. There are also no new cases in Sardinia, Aosta Valley, Calabria and the Province of Bolzano.
