The Italian government confirmed another 233 cases of coronavirus this Friday, a number very similar to Thursday’s, and pointed to an increase in the number of people recovered that has exceeded the 196,000 mark since the pandemic began.
The Italian Ministry of Health has said the total number of cases is now 243,967, with 35,028 deaths, including eleven in the last 24 hours, in which 771 people have recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus disease.
It was also found that the province of Lombardy, most affected by the corona virus, again registered the maximum daily number of cases at 55, the same number as that registered in Veneto. For its part, Emilia-Romagna has confirmed 54 positive results.
In this way, Lombardy already has 95,371 coronavirus infections, 31,530 in Piedmont, 29,087 in Emilia-Romagna and 19,525 in Veneto. Only Tuscany and Liguria exceed 10,000 cases in the rest of the country with 10,356 and 10,052, respectively.
The Italian health minister Roberto Speranza emphasized during the day through his report on the social network Twitter that the health system is “the most precious” in the country. “That’s why we have to take care of it every day,” he added.
