Italian health officials reported this Thursday that 1,411 coronavirus infections were found on the last day, the highest number since last May, and another five deaths.
According to the latest civil protection record, 263,949 cases of COVID-19 and 35,463 deaths have been recorded since the pandemic began, although the death toll on Thursday is lower than yesterday when an additional 13 were added.
In the past 24 hours, the government has conducted 94,024 tests for COVID-19, a number even higher than the maximum recorded on Wednesday.
The Ministry of Health has warned that in the Lazio region, where 152 new infections have been detected, two-thirds of cases come from outside the region, mainly from Sardinia. The same applies to Apulia.
