Italy has confirmed more than 200 new infections in the country this Sunday, an increase from Saturday and a return to the weekly trend, with another upswing added: that of the deceased at nine in the past few hours.
The 234 new cases represent an increase compared to 188 on Saturday and are below the 276 cases registered on Friday, but more than 214 on Thursday. The nine deceased exceed seven on the previous day’s balance sheet.
The total number of cases in the country has thus increased to 243,061, while the number of deaths is 34,954.
Regarding the total number of active cases, ie without considering layoffs and deaths, the number is 13,179, of which 68 are in intensive care. The total number of people restored is 198,928.
Lombardy tops the list of affected regions for another day with 95,049 cases and 16,748 deaths, followed by Piedmont, 31,498 cases and 4,111 deaths, and Emilia-Romagna with 28,940 cases and 4,269 deaths, according to the balance sheet presented by Civil Protection.
