Italy recorded the lowest number of new infections in three months this Monday, with only 178 cases confirmed on the last day, while data on those who died with another 69 deaths also fell, according to published data, for civil protection.
With 178 infections on the last day, the lowest since February 26, the country now has 233,197 cases, while the total number of deaths after the last 60 deaths is 33,475, a decrease from the previous year the 75 of the previous evening.
Of these new infections and deaths, 50 were recorded in Lombardy – a significant decrease from 210 on Sunday – and 19 deaths compared to 33 the previous day. The region remains the most affected, with more than 89,000 infections and more than 16,100 deaths.
There are currently 41,367 active cases in the country, of which 424 were admitted to the intensive care unit, eleven fewer, while those who were hospitalized with symptoms, 6,099, 288 fewer. The total number of cured patients increased to 158,355, and another 848 on the last day.
