The Italian Ministry of Health this Thursday reported 11,807 new infections and 258 more deaths from the coronavirus, a disease that has already left 4,082,198 cases and 122,263 deaths in the country.
The Italian health authorities have reported that in the past 24 hours a positivity rate of 3.6 percent was recorded, while 2,308 people were admitted to the intensive care unit and an additional 16,867 were hospitalized in general care beds.
In return, 15,867 recoveries were confirmed this Thursday, so that 3,557,133 people have already overcome the disease. The number of active cases has fallen to 402,802, around 4,300 fewer than the previous day.
Lombardy in northern Italy remains the hardest hit region, with 813,745 accumulated cases and 33,046 since the health crisis began.
