The Italian health minister this Friday reported the deaths of another 207 people from the coronavirus, as well as 10,554 other positive cases. So there are already 4,092,747 accumulated cases, of which 122,470 resulted in deaths.
Hospital pressure has decreased slightly compared to the previous day’s numbers. There are about 500 fewer patients on the ward, which treats 16,331 people with coronavirus. Of these, 2,253 are in intensive care units.
In the past 24 hours, 15,580 medical discharges have been signed, bringing the total to 3,572,713 people rescued since the pandemic outbreak just over a year ago, while the number of active cases has fallen to 397,564.
The hardest hit region remains Lombardy in northern Italy with 815,504 infections, of which around 1,700 have been confirmed in the last 24 hours. 25 more deaths were recorded, bringing the death toll to 33,106.
The new number of hospital patients in this region has dropped below 3,000 as there are fewer than 500 in intensive care units.
