A man died on Wednesday after being shot at the entrance to an Israeli medical center after stabbing a security guard during a dispute that started because he was not wearing a mask, the authorities have confirmed.
The incident occurred outside the Sheba Medical Center near Tel Aviv when the man identified as Mustafa Yunes refused to wear a mask, which triggered a fight.
Yunes, 26, who lives in the mostly Arab city of Arara in northern Israel, entered a mall in the area and was interviewed by several people who asked him to put on a mask.
The argument then flared up until several security forces intervened. At this point, the man took out a knife, though he kept it and tried to leave the medical complex in his vehicle.
