The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched a new air strike against the northern Gaza Strip on Thursday evening. This is the most effective round of attack by the Israeli army to date until a hypothetical ground intervention is due.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu reminded on Twitter that this new offensive is part of the “high price” they announced that they would make the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) pay.
“I said we would be charging Hamas a very high price. We are doing this and will continue to do it with great intensity. The last word was not said and this operation will continue for as long as necessary,” he warned.
“We fully support the police and the rest of the security forces in restoring law and order in the cities of Israel. We will not tolerate anarchy,” said Netanyahu.
According to the latest figures, 103 Palestinians, 27 of whom are children, died on the strip. In addition, 580 are injured while seven people have died in Israel, including an Indian national and a child.
