Israeli forces have launched new attacks on Hamas “terrorist targets” in the Gaza Strip in response to firing balloons and a rocket from the coastal area, as it has done for more than a week.
The goals achieved include “a military complex belonging to a special Hamas formation,” according to a message from the army on social media. Hamas sources cited by the DPA agency have confirmed bomb attacks on positions of their armed wing, the Ezzedin al Qassam Brigades.
For its part, the Palestinian agency WAFA has reported “severe damage” in the areas attacked by Israel, including a quarter in the capital Gaza and two other locations in the north of the strip. No bodily harm would have occurred.
Israel has tightened restrictions on the Strip in the wake of escalating attacks, suspended fuel shipments, restricted goods movements and reduced the fishing zone. The only power plant in the Gaza Strip had to shut down on Tuesday due to a lack of fuel.
