Israeli aviation bombed the headquarters of the internal security service of the Palestinian Islamist movement Hamas in the Gaza Strip on Monday.
“Air force fighters launched an attack on the headquarters of the Hamas internal security forces in the Rimal district of northern Gaza,” the Israeli army said in a statement.
The headquarters in question was the central part of the “terrorist infrastructure of Hamas” and served as an intelligence base for the Islamist movement. The Israeli army has stressed that it has alerted residents of the attack and given them enough time to evacuate the building.
On the other hand, the Israeli army reported the launch of up to six projectiles from Lebanese territory that did not even reach the border.
“In response, the Israeli army’s artillery returned fire at the origin of the launches,” said the army, quoted by The Times of Israel newspaper.
