Iran registers more than 2,300 cases and 127 deaths from COVID-19 in one day

The Iranian Ministry of Health this Wednesday reported 2,313 new cases of COVID-19 and 127 deaths in the past 24 hours. This corresponds to 393,425 infected people and 22,669 people who have lost their lives since the beginning of the pandemic.

Of the infections registered on the last day, more than half, particularly 1,229, correspond to patients who were already in hospital. More than 3,700 patients remain in intensive care units in Iran, according to the official IRNA news agency.

Iran is the twelfth country with the most coronavirus cases in the world and the country with the most positive in the Middle East. The rate of infection is constant, so authorities have recommended that the population continue to follow preventive measures, including using a mask or social distancing.
