The Iranian Ministry of Intelligence has warned Tuesday that any cooperation with the British Council is prohibited and will be subject to persecution.
“The United Kingdom (…) planned to carry out a project for the purpose of cultural networks in cooperation with the British Council in Iran (…) any cooperation with the British Council is prohibited and will result in prosecution,” he said. the Ministry in a statement published on its website.
Last August, the Supreme Court of Iran ratified a ten-year prison sentence against Iranian Aras Amiri, who worked for the British Council in London. Amiri was arrested last year during a visit to her family in Iran.
