Iran is keeping its infection level constant, confirming nearly 2,200 new cases of COVID-19

The Iranian Ministry of Health has reported 2,190 new cases of coronavirus, which has left the Islamic Republic with a constant rate of infection equal to half of the cases in patients who are already in the hospital.

The ministry spokesman increased the number of people infected by the COVID-19 pandemic this Thursday to 367,796, of which 316,638 have already been laid off. According to the IRNA agency, at least 21,137 people have died from the disease, 117 more than on Wednesday.

Iran remains the twelfth country in the world hardest hit by the pandemic, according to the Johns Hopkins University list. In order to prevent contagion, the government has recommended that people do not travel on the occasion of the upcoming celebration of Ashura Day, a particularly important holiday within the Shiite community.
