Iran has 163 deaths and more than 2,500 infections every day

The Iranian Ministry of Health has confirmed 163 coronavirus deaths in the country in the past 24 hours, a daily record of deaths and more than 2,500 new cases that are already above the total of 240,000 infected and now more than 11,500 deaths.

Health spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari said 2,560 people have had a positive test result in the past few hours. This corresponds to a total of 240,438 cases, including 11,571 deaths and at least 201,330 recoveries.

In addition, 3,168 patients remain in the intensive care unit. The latest daily record was recorded on June 29 with 162 deaths, according to estimates by the official Iranian agency IRNA.
