Iran has registered more than 2,000 new cases of corona virus in the past few hours, including that of government spokesman Ali Rabiei. Almost 300,000 people are infected.
Ministry of Health spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari reported Monday that 2,434 new cases and 212 more deaths have occurred in these 24 hours, corresponding to 293,606 infected and 15,915 deaths.
Among the newly discovered cases is that of Rabiei, who showed symptoms related to the coronavirus last week, which is why he was in preventive isolation at home and has been tested positive for the diagnostic test in the past few hours and was hospitalized.
Sadat Lari has also detailed that 3,819 patients will be admitted to the intensive care unit, while 255,144 people have already passed COVID-19, according to the IRNA news agency.
Iran, the country most affected by the corona virus in the Middle East, has seen an increase in infections as a result of de-escalation, which is why the government has regained some restrictions.
