A total of 96,448 people were infected with coronavirus in Iran, while 6,156 people lost their lives as a result of the disease, the spokesman for the Iranian Ministry of Health, Kianush Jahanpur, reported on Saturday.
The country has registered 802 new cases of coronavirus since Friday and another 65 deaths, according to the official news agency IRNA.
According to the Iranian head of government, a total of 2,787 people are in critical condition.
At the same time as the balance sheet was released, the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, General Mohammad Baqeri, declared the Army’s unreserved willingness to exchange information and help other countries in the region combat the corona virus.
Baqeri invited Iraq, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Syria and Lebanon.
