Iran again affected 2,300 daily cases (2,368 affected) to 204,952. The number of people who died since Saturday is 116, up to 9,623 dead. This is evident from the amount provided by the Ministry spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari and collected by the official Iranian news agency IRNA.

Of the victims, 2,887 are in critical condition, while the discharges have already reached 163,591. The provinces of Juzestán, Hormozgán, Kermanshah and East Azerbaijan are on alert.

In the meantime, Health Minister Said Namaki has commented in comments to the semi-official ISNA agency that the virus will continue to affect the country through 2022.

“We’ll have to live with it for two more years,” said Namaki, comparing the coronavirus to an animal “that bites and kicks”.
