Iran exceeds 220,000 infections after nearly 2,500 new cases of coronavirus

The Iranian government has confirmed that after more than 2,400 cases a day, the country has already exceeded the threshold of 222,000 coronavirus infections, while the death toll exceeds 10,000.

In particular, the Iranian Ministry of Health has confirmed the official agency’s press conference of 2,456 new patients, up to 220,180, and 125 more deaths in the past few hours, up to a total of 10,364 deaths, spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari told IRNA News.

Of those affected, 2,928 are in critical condition, while the spokeswoman says the total number of discharges is already 180,661.

The most affected provinces in the country are Juzestán, Kermanshah, Kurdistán, Hormozgán, Westazbaijan and Jorasán Razavi.
