Iranian Foreign Minister Mohamad Yavad Zarif denied that talks are currently underway with the United States on Tuesday, stressing that Washington has shown in the talks that it is “untrustworthy”.

“The Americans have shown that the results of the talks with them cannot be trusted,” he said before adding that “almost the whole world has come to this conclusion.”

He has argued that most countries assume that “if Washington seeks to negotiate with the United States, Washington can ignore the agreement at any time,” reports Iranian television station IRIB.

Zarif also stressed that the U.S. government would do better to correct its stance than “make excuses” for its decision to abandon the nuclear deal signed in 2015 in 2018.
