Iran confirms more than 1,700 new cases and more than a hundred deaths in the past few hours

The Iranian Ministry of Health reported this Sunday that 103 more Iranians have died of coronavirus in the past 24 hours, with more than 1,700 new cases recorded.

Health Ministry spokeswoman Sima Sadat Lari has reported that with the 103 new deaths, the total number of deaths from COVID-19 in the country has risen to 21,462.

Likewise, around 1,754 new cases of infection were confirmed in the last 24 hours, of which 718 were hospitalized, said Sadat Lari, up to 373,570 infected people.

The number of discharges so far is 321,421, while 3,759 COVID-19 patients are in critical condition and are being treated in intensive care, the spokeswoman said at a press conference for the official Iranian news agency IRNA.
