Italian health officials have confirmed 479 new coronavirus infections – compared with 629 new ones on Saturday, the highest since May 23 – and another four new deaths, just like the day before.
That new balance sheet, however, only reflects 36,807 tests taken in the last 24 hours, nearly 17,000 fewer than on Saturday, with estimates by those affected being that.
The total number of cases is already 253,915, while another four new deaths have been recorded, bringing the total death toll to 35,396.
A total of 14,733 people are still listed as active cases, that is, without registration and deaths. A total of 56 patients are in the intensive care unit, and the number of discharges is now 203,786, according to civil defense.
