Indonesia has again registered more than 100 COVID-19 deaths in a single day, increasing the total number of coronavirus deaths to over 4,500, the Ministry of Health said on Thursday.
The country had the highest daily death toll on 139 on Wednesday, and added 117 more on Thursday, for a total of 4,576 deaths from the virus.
In Indonesia, 93,657 people are already infected – 1,906 registered in the last 24 hours – of whom 52,164 have recovered, according to the Jakarta Post.
Jakarta remains the most affected by the pandemic. 18,068 people are infected, although the virus has spread to the country’s 34 provinces.
Indonesia has surpassed China, where the pandemic started, in the past few days with 86,027 positive results in the world ranking of the countries with the highest number of infections.
