A person who claims to be a sympathizer and fighter for the Islamic State was arrested and admitted to being responsible for four attacks that have been carried out in the Bavarian city of Waldkraiburg in the past three weeks.
In the attacks, the suspect set fire to a greengrocer and injured six people. In the other three cases, he threw stones at the windows and spread a smelly substance.
The man is 25 years old and a German citizen, although his parents are Turks. He has assured that these actions are motivated by his “hatred of the Turks”, as the police reported this Sunday at a press conference on German public television ARD.
The suspect was arrested on Friday and had several homemade bombs and a firearm. He also said that according to police spokesman Robert Kopp, he was preparing further attacks. “Further crimes were prevented,” said prosecutor Georg Freutsmiedl.
