The Indian Ministry of Health reported 14,821 new cases of the new coronavirus and 445 further deaths in the last 24 hours on Monday.
In their latest record, health authorities have indicated that there are 425,282 people in India who have been infected with COVID-19, while the death toll has increased to 13,699.
The contagion curve has seen fairly pronounced growth lately. On Sunday, the Ministry of Health had more than 15,000 positive results in a single day. This was the largest daily increase since the country’s health crisis began.
Just over 237,000 people have managed to recover from the disease in a country where more than half of the cases were concentrated in just three states, Maharashtra, with 132,075 infections. Delhi with 59,746; and Tamil Nadu, 59,377.
Despite the fact that the numbers do not represent a ceasefire, India is already the fourth country most affected by the pandemic. Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a few days ago that the government is working with regional authorities to make further progress in de-escalation and flexibility in containment measures.
