India’s most populous state suspends meetings until June 30

The local government of Uttar Pradesh, the most populous state in India, announced on Saturday that the meetings would be suspended until June 30 as a measure to curb the corona virus.

This is the first state to impose a ban on assemblies beyond the final theoretical state of national restriction on May 3.

The prime minister of the state, Yogi Adityanath, has given the officials strict instructions, as reported by aseo Mrityunjay Kumar on his Twitter account in a message collected by ‘Times of India’.

According to the Ministry of Health and Family Care, Uttar Pradesh has registered 1,621 positive cases, including 25 deaths. 24,506 cases and 775 deaths were registered across the country.
