India crossed 32 million coronavirus cases this Wednesday after more than 38,000 were reported last day, about 10,000 more than during the day on Tuesday, according to the balance sheet submitted by authorities.
The Indian government has reported on the social network Twitter that 38,353 infections and 497 deaths have been confirmed in the past 24 hours – about 120 more than the previous day – for a total of 32,036,511 and 429,179, respectively.
Likewise, the Indian executive has highlighted that there are currently around 386,000 active cases in the country while 31,220,981 people have recovered from COVID-19 to date, including 40,013 on the last day.
On the other hand, the Controller General of Medicines of India (DCGI) has given its approval to conduct a study on the mixture of the Covishield and Covaxin vaccines, which, according to the two main ones, are used in the vaccination campaign in the Asian country that has the television broadcaster NDTV reported.
“A Vellore Christian Medical College research study of mixing the doses of the vaccine was approved,” the agency said after the Central Drug Control Organization (CDSCO) recommended it.
The study – which will enroll 18 participants with an average age of 62 – differs from the Indian Council for Medical Research (ICMR) study, which found that mixing these two vaccines resulted in better immunization levels.
